New Delhi, Sep 23 (IANS) A married youth has been arrested on the charge of firing outside his alleged lover's house in south-east Delhi, police said on Wednesday.

Police said accused Sumit Tomar was in a relationship with a young woman for the past 10 years. She, however, began ignoring him after his marriage.

Late Sunday night, Sumit Tomar, a resident of Aali Vihar, went to her house and fired several shots from a countrymade pistol he bought from Shamsabad in Agra. The woman's family said that a portion of the main gate of their house was also broken by the accused.

A case was registered at Sarita Vihar police station under Sections 336, 354D, 506, 509 of the IPC and 27 of the Arms Act. The accused was arrested on Tuesday from a forested area in Aali Vihar.

"On questioning, he revealed that he wanted to take revenge on the woman as she was ignoring him. He procured the countrymade pistol from Shamsabad and fired at her house's door to threaten her," said RP Meena, DCP, South East Delhi.
