Jammu, Feb 26 (IANS) The J&K government has established three more AMRUT outlets as part of the tertiary healthcare institutions.

The outlets, opened in Medical College Hospital, Kathua, Medical College Hospital, Doda, and Medical College Hospital, Rajouri, will provide all categories of medical products (branded, branded-generic and generic) under one roof at competitive prices.

Initially, the J&K government had decided to open 16 outlets in J&K, of which 12 outlets have become operational and the remaining four shall be made functional within three months. These outlets have provided services to 32,387 patients.

The government contemplates to extend this initiative to 14 more outlets proposed to be located in secondary healthcare institutions across the borders of the Union Territory.

Five stores in Phase II shall be made functional within three months. The AMRUT stores are operating under the aegis of the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India.
